Mega Apple Updates

Apple released huge updates for most of its devices last week. The iOS 26.5 update requires almost 4 GB of space on your phone and the macOS update requires almost 6GB of space. The primary reason folks can’t update their phones is lack of storage space, usually caused by too many photos and videos. Apple advises on how to manage your photos and videos to create more space.

The Watch update requires only 440MB, you can check your watch storage from the app on your phone, Settings, General, Storage. Tips for how to make room on your Watch for updates here.

Google Chrome updates

Google patched 79 vulnerabilities including 14 critical ones in the Chrome browser May 15th.

This means that all Chromium browsers like Edge, Vivaldi, etc. received security updates as well.

Microsoft Patch Tuesday May 2026

May 12th, Microsoft released patches for 137 vulnerabilities including 37 critical ones. Patches are for the full range of Microsoft products including all supported versions of Office and Windows.

The most critical update is for Windows DNS Client. End users don’t have to click or open anything for this vulnerability to be exploited.

Microsoft will be releasing a fix for Microsoft Edge soon. This security hole, which Microsoft referred to as a feature, meant that Microsoft Edge stored passwords from its password manager feature in plaintext.
